Cunninghamia (family Taxodiaceae) A genus of tall, coniferous trees that have long, flat, fine-pointed leaves, spirally arranged on twigs, but twisted so as to be pinnately arranged. Cones are ovoid and erect, with a small brown spine on the rounded tip of each white-fringed scale. There are 2 species, 1 of which occurs in south-western China, where it has long been cultivated, and the other in Taiwan.
