Craseonycteridae (order Chiroptera, suborder Microchiroptera) A family of very small, tail-less bats that have long, separate ears in which the tragus is tapered and visible, a simple nose with a narial pad and open, non-valvular nostrils, and the second digit of the fore limb partly free in the leading edge of the wing. They were discovered in 1973, only in Thailand. There is one species, Craseonycteris thonglongyai (Kitti's bat or bumble-bee bat), which is the smallest living mammal.
