Brachionichthyidae (warty angler; subclass Actinopterygii, order Lophiiformes) A small family of marine fish, differing from the related frogfish (Antennariidae) in having a thick membrane, separate from the rest of the dorsal fin, above the eyes. The pectoral and pelvic fins are arm-like in shape, making the fish more frog-like than the frogfish. There are a few species, found in the southern half of Australia.
