Aleurites
Aleurites (family Euphorbiaceae) A genus of trees that produce large, round fruits with a thick, fleshy pericarp, containing a few big, very hard, oily seeds. A moluccana (candlenut) of Malesia provides oil for candles, soaps, paints, and varnishes; A. fordii and 2 relatives, of China, provide tung oil for varnishes and paints. There are 6 species, occurring from tropical Asia to the Pacific.
