WALRAM OF NAUMBERG

Bishop; d. April 12, 1111. He was consecrated bishop in 1091 and was a supporter of the Emperor henry iv in the investiture struggle. Some of his letters giving evidence of this support have survived (Monumenta Germaniae Historica: Libelli de lite, 2:28691). He is not the author, however, of the De unitate ecclesiae conservanda (Ibid. 2:182284), or of the Tractatus de investitura (Ibid. 2:498504). In later years, under the irenic efforts of paschal ii, Walram was reconciled with Rome. He is mentioned in several undated letters of anselm of canterbury.
