RESCH, PETER ANTHONY
Author; b. Chicago, IL, Feb. 27, 1895; d. Kirkwood, MO, April 29, 1956. He received his B.A. (1919) from the University of Dayton, Ohio, and was ordained and received the S.T.D. at Fribourg, Switzerland (1926). He was superior of marianist seminarians (1943–46) and provincial of the St. Louis province (1946–56). His publications include Marianist Meditations (2 v. Kirkwood 1936), Our Blessed Mother (Milwaukee 1947), Shadows Cast Before (Kirkwood 1948), The Prayer Life of a Religious (New York 1948), A Life of Mary, Co-Redemptrix (Milwaukee 1954), One Hundred Years of Educational Foundations by the Brothers of Mary in America (Kirkwood 1949), and La doctrine ascétique des premiers maâtres égyptiens de quatrième siècle (Paris 1931). He translated Henri Lebon's The Marianist Way (2 v. Kirkwood 1951) and Emil Newbert's Our Mother (St. Meinrad 1953), contributed articles to Catholic periodicals, and wrote numerous religious pamphlets.
