Hladik, Abraham
HLADIK, ABRAHAM
HLADIK, ABRAHAM (first half of 13th century), Bohemian scholar. The name Ḥladik, still found to this day as a family name in Prague, is evidence that Abraham came from Bohemia, and he is sometimes referred to as Abraham of Bohemia. His name is frequently mentioned in *minhagim books and in 13th-century commentaries on the prayers. He was in contact with *Abraham b. Azriel, though the nature of their literary dependence is still unclear. It seems that Ḥladik abridged some of Abraham b. Azriel's commentaries to piyyutim.
