ḤAYYUN, ABRAHAM BEN NISSIM
ḤAYYUN, ABRAHAM BEN NISSIM (d. 1500), Portuguese scholar; a pupil of Joseph b. Abraham *Ḥayyun, rabbi of Lisbon. He was among the Jews who left Portugal after the decree of expulsion was issued in 1496, settling in Constantinople. He wrote Imrot Tehorot, an ethical work (Constantinople, 1515–20; Salonika, 1595; and Jerusalem, 1876), and Ma'amar be-Mofetim, on miracles described in the Bible (mentioned by Abraham b. Solomon Ḥayyun at the end of Joseph Ḥayyun's Millei de-Avot).
