GRIMSTON, RALPH, BL.

Martyr; also known as Ralph Grimstow; b. Nidd, Knaresborough, Yorkshire, England; d. June 15, 1598, hanged at York. Arrested with Fr. Peter snow with whom he was traveling to York about May 1, 1598. He was charged with felony for having aided a priest and having attempted to prevent Snow's apprehension. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on Nov. 22, 1987 with George Haydock and Companions.
