Vṛndāvana

Vṛndāvana (Skt., ‘grove of a multitude’). A sacred forest in India by the river Yamunā, near Mathurā, the birthplace of Kṛṣṇa. It is a place particularly sacred to Vaiṣṇavas. The modern town is also known as Brindavan.
