Rahit, Rahat (Pañjābī, ‘code’). Rahit Maryādā, Sikhs' code of discipline. In 1945 the Shiromaṇi Gurdwārā Parbandhak Committee approved the Rahit Maryādā (Code of practice), published 1950 (Rehat Maryādā).

After defining a Sikh, the Rahit Maryādā prescribes conduct expected of the individual and the Panth.
