Prabhavana. The Jain custom of offering a sweetmeat to those who have participated in a religious ceremony. In origin, it refers to the eight ways in which the Jain way is commended and exalted: through knowledge of the scriptures; through debating; through preaching; through mastery of astrology; of magic; of invocation; through writing; through asceticism.
