Parochet
Parochet or parokhet. The curtain that separated the ‘holy place’ in the sanctuary from the Holy of Holies (Exodus 26. 31–3). Nowadays the term is used by the Ashkenazim to refer to the curtain hanging before the Ark in the synagogue.
