Nipponzan Myōhōji. A Japanese Buddhist revival movement, founded in 1917 by Fujii Nichidatsu (1884–1985), based on the teachings of Nichiren. It is therefore also known as the Movement of the Wondrous Law of the Lotus Sūtra. Its basic practice is the repetition of the name of the Lotus Sūtra. It organizes marches for peace, and builds peace pagodas throughout the world (in the UK at Milton Keynes and in Battersea Park). Fujii's book, Beating Celestial Drums, reflects the practice of beating the drum of heaven to extend the reverberations of peace.
