Maʿaseh Book (Heb., ‘Story Book’; Yid., Mayse Bukh). A collection of anonymous Jewish folk tales. The Maʿaseh Book was first publ. in Yiddish in 1602 and contains 254 stories, including Talmudic aggadah, midrash, legends, jokes, and oral traditions.
