Gufu-shogyō-zen

Gufu-shogyō-zen (Jap., ‘fool's way of Zen’). The limited forms of Zen meditation. They are distinguished from zazen because they focus on conventional concepts, e.g. śūnyatā, anātman, anicca, etc. They have a preliminary use, for an extreme novice, but only in order to clear the way for zazen.
