Fürst, Julius
Julius Fürst (yōō´lyŏŏs fürst), 1805–73, German Orientalist. Fürst was a distinguished scholar of Semitic languages and literature of his time. During his years as chairman of the department of Oriental languages and literature at the Univ. of Leipzig. (1864–73), he wrote major works on literary history and linguistics.
