Baytown
Baytown, city (1990 pop. 63,850), Harris co., S Tex., at the head of Galveston Bay, on the Houston ship channel; inc. 1948 after the consolidation of Goose Creek, Pelly, and Baytown. In addition to its huge oil refineries, the city manufactures chemicals, steel pipe, and medical supplies.
