Shalom ("Peace," in Hebrew)
SHALOM ("peace," in Hebrew)
The search for peace is a constant theme in the Bible, as well as in Hebrew liturgy and the Talmud. In the Kabbalistic tradition, Shalom is one of the names of "God, agent of universal harmony." The expression shalom aleichem (peace be with you) is close to the Arab phrase al-salam alaykum and means the same thing.
