Hippolyta
Hippolyta queen of the Amazons given in marriage to Theseus by Hercules, who had conquered her and taken away her girdle, the achievement being one of his twelve labours. She had a son by Theseus called Hippolytus. According to another version she was slain by Hercules, and it was her sister Antiope who was the wife of Theseus.
