Cullinan diamond
Cullinan diamond the largest diamond known, presented by the people of the Transvaal to Edward VII as a birthday gift in 1907; two sections of it were set in the king's crown. The stone was named after Sir Thomas Cullinan, who had discovered the mine three years earlier.
