Acacius, St reputed martyr, of no known date, said to have been put to death with 10,000 companions by a pagan army; he is reputed to have prayed before his death that those venerating their memory would be granted health and strength, and from this he is traditionally counted as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. His feast day is 22 June.
