Mirabeau, Honoré
Mirabeau, Honoré (1749–91) French revolutionary. One of the most capable early leaders of the French Revolution, Mirabeau was instrumental in establishing the National Assembly and became its leader. His goal was a parliamentary monarchy, but the obstinacy of the King on the one hand and the Assembly on the other frustrated his plans.
