Born October 25, 1933; married Diane Mercer (an actress), March 24, 1979. Education: Graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, 1965.

Career:

Actor. Appeared in numerous productions at theatres throughout the United Kingdom, including Birmingham Repertory, Liverpool Playhouse, and Cambridge Theatre Company, as well as theatres in the United States, Holland, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Worked as a personal assistant, Canadian Pacific and Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds. Military service: British army, c. 1951-58, drill and weapons training instructor; personal assistant to director of military operations, War Office, London; personal assistant to general officer commanding the Royal West African Frontier Force, Nigeria; also served in Special Air Service; became sergeant.

Best Ensemble Cast Award (with others), Method Fest, 2007, for Man in the Chair; Silver Award, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Ohio State Achievement of Merit Awards, Audie Award, American Book Publishers Association, and Parents' Choice Gold Award, all for The Complete Works of Winnie-the-Pooh (radio series); Critics Choice Awards, L.A.
