Original name, Juan–Paolo Perre; born September 24, 1964, in Siena, Italy; immigrated to the United States, c. 1972. Education: Studied violin, piano, voice, and ballet at the Interlochen Arts Academy; University of Wisconsin, bachelor's degree; University of Maryland, master's degree; graduate study at the Paris Conservatory, the University of Paris, and the Moscow State University, Russia; also studied at The Juilliard School, New York City, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London.
