Description:

Independent, comprehensive, coed, affiliated with Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1870. Setting: 170-acre small town campus with easy access to St. Louis. Endowment: $10.1 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $1108 per student. Total enrollment: 2,191. Faculty: 79 (56 full-time, 23 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 13:1. 645 applied, 84% were admitted. 18% from top 10% of their high school class, 37% from top quarter, 79% from top half. Collegiate Environment:

Most popular organizations: Campus Crusade for Christ, Leader Scholars, Hunter Jumper Show Team. Major annual events: student organization activities fair, Snowball (campuswide formal), Casino Night. Student services: health clinic, personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour patrols, controlled dormitory access. 670 college housing spaces available; 565 were occupied in 2003-04. Freshmen guaranteed college housing. On-campus residence required through senior year. Options: coed, men-only, women-only housing available. Community Environment:

The wooded Missouri landscape provides a scenic setting for residents of the area. Colleges, state educational and health facilities and professional industries are primary employers. Part-time employment is available. The regional area provides major medical centers, churches, libraries, restaurants, and recreational and entertainment facilities.
