Description: Commonwealth-supported, 4-year, coed. Part of University of Puerto Rico System. Awards associate and bachelor's degrees. Founded 1971. Setting: 78-acre urban campus with easy access to San Juan. Total enrollment: 5,826. 1,986 applied, 78% were admitted. Full-time: 4,544 students, 57% women, 43% men. Part-time: 1,282 students, 60% women, 40% men. Students come from 4 other countries. Retention: 78% of 2003 full-time freshmen returned. Core. Calendar: semesters. Academic remediation for entering students, advanced placement, honors program, summer session for credit, part-time degree program, adult/continuing education programs, co-op programs.
