University of Minnesota, Crookston was founded in 1966. It is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It first offered distance learning courses in 1990. In fall 2004, there were 415 students enrolled in distance learning courses. Institutionally administered financial aid is available to distance learners.
