Description:

Independent, comprehensive, coed, affiliated with United Methodist Church. Awards associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Founded 1902. Setting: 60-acre suburban campus. Endowment: $53 million. Research spending 2003-04: $105,968. Educational spending 2003-04: $7313 per student. Total enrollment: 4,188. Faculty: 358 (160 full-time, 198 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 14:1. 2,828 applied, 74% were admitted. 21% from top 10% of their high school class, 51% from top quarter, 84% from top half. 19 valedictorians. Full-time: 2,210 students, 64% women, 36% men. Part-time: 935 students, 76% women, 24% men. Community Environment:

The university is located in the southern, residential suburb of Indianapolis known as University Heights. Indianapolis is the nation's third largest capital city and is known as the "Amateur Sports Capital of the World." The metropolitan area has a population of more than one million. Recreational, cultural, and social opportunities abound. Bus, train, and airline services are within minutes of the campus. There are also numerous shops, restaurants, hotels, and a major shopping mall nearby.
