Description:

State-supported, university, coed. Part of State University of New York System. Awards bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and post-master's certificates. Founded 1844. Setting: 560-acre suburban campus. Endowment: $15.8 million. Total enrollment: 16,293. Faculty: 1,121 (598 full-time, 523 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 19:1. 17,171 applied, 56% were admitted. 20% from top 10% of their high school class, 57% from top quarter, 95% from top half. 2 National Merit Scholars, 42 class presidents, 15 valedictorians, 357 student government officers. Full-time: 10,455 students, 50% women, 50% men. Part-time: 933 students, 53% women, 47% men.
