Marmot Leadership Scholarships (Postgraduate, Professional Development, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To recognize outstanding students who have leadership potential and are in need of financial assistance. Focus: Community leadership. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior (age 17+) or a college/university student (age 23 maximum) who demonstrates leadership potential and financial need. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Funds Avail.: Funds must be used for tuition only. To Apply: Applicants must submit a complete Marmot Leadership Scholarship Application, Essay Questions, and Financial Application; a $100 application fee; a letter of recommendation that can attest to the applicant's leadership qualities, experience and/or potential; a copy of the applicant's (or parents) most recent 1040 Federal Tax Form, including all schedules. For students under 21 or not self-supporting, both parents’ income information is required. Purpose: For teachers who will incorporate experiential learning techniques into their schools. Focus: Community leadership. Qualif.: Teachers must be at least 23 years-old and should teach at the same school from which they applied; former Outward Bound scholars are not qualified. Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants who best meet the requirements.

Funds Avail.: Funds must be used for tuition only. Outward Bound Wilderness Leadership Awards (High School, Professional Development/Award/Prize)

Purpose: For students who have demonstrated interest in community service and display potential leadership. Focus: Community leadership. Qualif.: Candidates must be junior high school students; must be identified as candidates by a teacher or a staff. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on student presentations/interviews and jury's review of application materials. Applicants are also nominated by a former Outward Bound Alumni, school staff, or teachers.
