NACBS Dissertation Year Fellowships (Postdoctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To support dissertation research in the British Isles on any topic of British history or British studies. Focus: History. Qualif.: Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada; enrolled in a PhD program in a U.S. or Canadian institution; has completed all degree requirements for dissertation; must be nominated by a dissertation advisor; must need to travel to the British Isles for the purpose of dissertation research and must conduct full-time research in the British Isles for a period of at least six months. Criteria: Selection is based on merit and importance of research.

Funds Avail.: $6,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Nomination must be supported by a letter of recommendation; application consists of the two letters of nomination and recommendation, one-page curriculum vitae, a 1000-word research proposal which should explain the importance of the topic to the field of British history. NACBS-Huntington Library Fellowships (Postdoctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To aid in dissertation research in British studies using the collections of the library. Focus: History. Qualif.:

Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents; must be enrolled in a PhD program in a U.S. or Canadian institution; the time of fellowship tenure must be spent in residence at the Huntington Library. Criteria: Selection is based on merit and importance of research.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applications should consist of a curriculum vitae, two supporting letters (one from applicant's dissertation advisor) and a description of the research project. A copy of the application package must be sent to each member of the Huntington Library Fellowship Committee. Deadline: November 30.
