Harvey and Laura Alpert Scholarship Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support students preparing for careers in the industry as well as opportunities for established professionals to further their career in onboard food services. Focus: Service food careers. Qualif.: Applicants must be currently enrolled at or transferring to Michigan State University ultimately receiving a degree from that institution; must have completed a minimum of 32 credit hours or in sophomore level of course study in a post-secondary, hospitality management program and must be in good standing. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic merit, dedications in pursuing a career in onboard services operations and leadership potentials.
Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; must provide three letters of recommendation preferably from high school counselors, college professors or employers and transcript for all high school and post-secondary studies. Lois Campbell Scholarship Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide opportunities for students involved in hospitality programs to further their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have completed a minimum of 20 hours of course study in a post-secondary, hospitality management program; must be in a “good” academic standing and exhibit high leadership potential in the hospitality industry; must able to pursue the chosen course of study beginning with the academic year following the recipient’s acceptance of the award. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic merit and dedication in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.
Funds Avail.: $2,250. To Apply: Applicants must provide an official transcript of records for all high school and post-
secondary studies at an accredited institution; must provide three letters of recommendation preferably from college professors, clergy and employers; must provide official documentation noting cancer history or loss of a family member due to cancer. Delta Daily Food (Canada) Inc. Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide opportunity for students involved in food science programs at the University of Guelph and Laval to further their education. Focus: Food science and technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students in food science program; must have completed a minimum of three semesters of course study in food science program; must have a “good” academic standing with an average of 75% or better. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic merit; dedication in pursuing a career in food processing industry; and, financial need.
