Description: Independent, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1982. Setting: 10-acre rural campus. Endowment: $3.1 million. Community Environment: Toppenish is located twenty miles south of Yakima, in the fertile lower Yakima Valley which produces fruit and hops and supports agricultural related industries. The climate is mild and dry. Toppenish has churches representing most denominations, a hospital, symphony, civic theatre, community concert series, and arts events. Local recreation includes swimming, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting, and golf. Local events include the Toppenish Rodeo and Pow-Wow, the Cinco de Mayo celebrations, and Yakima Indian Nation Cultural Center events.
