William R. Bowen Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Snow Hill High School. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form.

William T. Burbage Family Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Stephen Decatur High School who have selected their college and have been accepted for admission as full-time students; must have 3.0 GPA. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on leadership potential.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university; two letters of recommendation from non-family members; a detailed listing by high school year of activities and an essay explaining how growing up on the Eastern Shore has contributed the individual leadership style. Deadline: April 15.

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be post-graduates or current 12th grade students of Parkside High School, Wicomico County, Maryland who have been accepted for admission as full-time college students; must have successfully completed a minimum of three advanced placement social studies during the enrollment at Parkside High School. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university; an essay describing the personal character and two letters of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: April 15.

Eastern Shore Builder's Association Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current 12th grade students of high schools in Eastern Shore of Maryland counties of Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Somerset and Worcester who have been accepted for admission as full-time students; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale; must be participated in some extracurricular activities. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, financial need and extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university; must submit an essay describing the reasons of choosing the career path and two letters of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: April 1.

Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Colonel Richardson High School who have selected their college and have been accepted for admission as full-time students; must have 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Herb Fincher Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of the four public high schools in Wicomico County, Maryland who have been accepted into a course of study for either math or engineering; must have a reputation of good character and be well-rounded young citizens who participated in extra-curricular school or community activities. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated maturity and commitment to succeed in college level courses of study.

Funds Avail.: $6,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, an official high school transcript of grades, letter of acceptance from college or university and two letters of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: April 1.

Green Hill Yacht and Country Club Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of any Wicomico, Somerset or Worcester County School; must be past graduates or current 12th grade students who have been accepted for admission as full-time students in an accredited four-year college or university or accredited two-year educational/vocational institution. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need.

Gruwell Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of Lake Forest School District, Kent County, Delaware who have selected their college and have been accepted for admission as full-time students. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, community involvement, academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, an official high school transcript of grades and letter of acceptance from college or university; must submit a copy of parent/guardian and student's most recent income tax return and two letters of recommendation from non-family members.

Hancock Family Snow Hill High School Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at Snow Hill High School who have been

accepted by an Accredited academic college program; must have 2.5 GPA in appropriate course work indicating the students are able to be successful at the college level; must have three or more year residents of Snow Hill area; must be active in school activity, church, community and youth clubs; must have good moral character. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, financial need and participation in extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university; a copy of parent/guardian and student's most recent income tax return and two letters of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: April 21.

Dick and Pat Hazel Minority Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: Education. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of a minority group and must commit teaching for two years within the public education systems of Somerset, Wicomico or Worcester counties; must be minority residents of Wicomico, Somerset or Worcester County, Maryland who have selected their college and have been accepted for admission as full-time students whose pursuit must be education/teaching. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, community involvement, academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $3,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; “one-page” describing the reasons of wanting to teach; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university and summary of financial assistance from college/university financial aid and office; must also submit a copy of parent/guardian and student's most recent income tax return and two letters of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: May 1.

Martin S. Kane Memorial Community Service Award Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be from Wicomico High School. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

TFC Edward A. Plank, Jr. Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of any Wicomico, Somerset or Worcester County School; must have 3.0 overall GPA; must be accepted in a full-time basis at an accredited two-to-four-year college. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, a “500-word” essay on how crimes and/or drug abuse have been affected today's society and personal letters of recommendation from two responsible adults other than relatives. Deadline: March 31.

Progress Lane Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current graduating 12th grade students of Washington High School, Princess Anne, Maryland who are financially advantaged and have been accepted for admission as students with a minimum of six credit hours in a course of study that will serve the educational requirements for their chosen career. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; a letter of acceptance from college; university or training institute and “250-word” essay describing the reasons of wanting to attend college. Deadline: April 1.

Duane V. Puerde Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be past graduates or current 12th grade students of Parkside High school who are residents of rural Eastern Wicomico County, Maryland including but not exclusive to the communities of Parsonburg, Pittsville, Powellville, Williards or Melson who have been accepted for admission as full-time college students or vocational school. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, an official high school transcript of grades and two letters of recommendation from non-family members.

Elizabeth Pusey Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at any Wicomico County high school who have selected their college and have been accepted from admission as full-time students; must be in the top 10% of their class. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, an official transcript of grades

Lana K. Rinehart Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Drew Smith Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be adults or graduating public or private high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in golf turf management from an accredited college or university and must be domiciled residents of the Eastern Shore Counties of Maryland and Virginia or the State of Delaware; must be enrolled in college for a minimum of six credit hours per scholastic year. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic record, financial need, extracurricular activities or community service.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form. Deadline: July 14.

Esther M. Smith Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors with a disability as accepted defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) who attended in Wicomico County; must be nominated by their school principal, guidance counselor or teacher; must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have been accepted for admission as full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university or a two-year education or career training institution. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades and letter of recommendation from non-family members. Deadline: April 1.

Wicomico High School Class of '55 Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To empower donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore; to provide community leadership through grants, non-profit support programs, charitable partnerships and local initiatives in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating senior students of Wicomico High School who have spent at least their junior and senior years in that school's program; must have selected their college and have been accepted for admission as full-time students; must have 3.0 cumulative GPA. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on community involvement, academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; an official high school transcript of grades; letter of acceptance from college or university; three letters of recommendation from non-family members and “250-word” essay on “How they can make a difference”. Deadline: April 15.

M. William and Frances J. Tilghman Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
