Description:

Independent, comprehensive, coed. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees and post-master's certificates. Founded 1920. Setting: 28-acre urban campus. Endowment: $18.8 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $4849 per student. Total enrollment: 4,971. Faculty: 452 (171 full-time, 281 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 15:1. 2,659 applied, 71% were admitted. 18% from top 10% of their high school class, 48% from top quarter, 84% from top half. Full-time: 2,643 students, 74% women, 26% men. Part-time: 315 students, 72% women, 28% men. Students come from 20 states and territories, 6% from out-of-state, 0.2% Native American, 3% Hispanic, 2% black, 1% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 0% international, 15% 25 or older, 30% live on campus, 10% transferred in.
