The Helen and Edward Brancati Teacher Development Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)
Purpose: To assist teachers employed by an accredited school in the United States who wish to continue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be teachers employed by an accredited school in the United States who are seeking post-graduate education or need funds to continue their education classes, workshops, conferences or certification courses; must be U.S. citizens. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated ability to create an atmosphere of learning for students across the broad spectrum of a mainstream classroom, complete application, letter of recommendation, essay and other materials.
Funds Avail.: Maximum amount of $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must show proof of employment; must provide a copy of teaching certificate, written evaluations from their school principal; must outline a plan for how these funds will be used to increase their professional development or enhance their classroom; must provide a 500 word original essay discussing their reasons for becoming a teacher and how this scholarship will be beneficial; must submit a proof of enrollment or most recent transcript. Deadline: September 1; October 31.
The Rotary Club of Cape Coral Gold-coast Scholarships Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To assist eligible high school seniors to further their education by attending college. Focus: General Studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of any high school in Lee County; must have a 3.2 GPAor better; must be accepted to at least one accredited junior college, college or university; must be residents of Cape Coral; must be U.S. citizens and active in school and community. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic standing, academic history, school and community involvement, career and academic goals and three letters of recommendation.
Funds Avail.: $4,000. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form. Deadline: April 1.
