Steele, Fletcher

Steele, Fletcher (1885–1971). American land-scape-architect. At Naumkeag, Stockbridge, MA (1925–38), he created an eclectic garden, part Chinese, part rose-garden, part water, with a silver-birch plantation. His Landscape Design for the Future (1932) and Modern Garden Design were influential.
