Gallo, Francesco (1672–1750). Italian architect. He designed over 100 known works in his native Piedmont, including the Assunta Carrù (1702–25), Sant'Ambrogio, Cuneo (1710–43), Santa Chiara, Mondovi (1712), Santa Croce, Cavallermaggiore (1737–43), San Giovanni Battista, Racconigi (1719–30), and the elliptical drum and dome on Vitozzi's Santuario di Vico, Mondovi (1728–33). The last is probably his greatest achievement.
