Crucy, Mathurin
Crucy, Mathurin (1749–1826). Architect-Surveyor of Nantes, he created many fine buildings and public spaces, including the Grand Théâtre and Place Graslin (1784–7), Place d'Armes (1786–90), Place Royale (1787), Bourse (1790–1814), and Textile Exchange (1821). His civic designs were conceived on a grand scale, and are among the supreme examples of Greek-inspired Neo-Classicism by a Frenchman.
