Cowlishaw, William Harrison
Cowlishaw, William Harrison (1869–1957). English Arts-and-Crafts architect and disciple of William Morris. He is remembered for two buildings: The Cearne, Kent Hatch, Crockham Hill, Kent (1896), a charming house for Edward and Constance Garnett, and the summer-school known as The Cloisters, Barrington Road, Letchworth Garden City, Herts. (1908), an eclectic and romantic building. He worked for the Imperial War Graves Commission, and later for Holden.
