Cola da Caprarola
Cola da Caprarola ( di Matteuccio) (fl.1494–1518). Italian architect. He worked with Sangallo the Elder on the Papal palace and fortifications of La Rocca, Cività Castellana (1494–1500), and carried out other works on the fortifications of Nepi. He was involved in the building of Santa Maria della Consolazione, Todi (1508–12—a centrally planned church probably derived from sketches by Leonardo da Vinci and from Bramante's designs for San Pietro, Rome). He restored Foligno Cathedral (1512–15), and built the fortress at Porto Ercole (c.1518–21).
