Baylis, Douglas

Baylis, Douglas (1915–71). American land-scape-architect of the so-called California School, he began his career with Church. From 1946 he established his own practice with his wife, and designed the Civic Center Plaza and Washington Square, San Francisco, the Monterey Freeway, and the gardens of IBM Headquarters, San José, all in CA. He was a regular contributor to Landscape Architecture.
