Amsterdam School
Amsterdam School. Group of Netherlands architects influenced by Berlage and Frank Lloyd Wright, including van der Mey, Kramer, and de Klerk, who built sculptured and Picturesque brick structures much influenced by Expressionism and by Dutch vernacular traditions from c.1912 to c.1936. The antithesis of work by the De Stijl group, it was publicized in the Modernist magazine Wendingen (1918–31), edited by Wijdeveld.
