Mollisols
Mollisols An order of mineral soils, which are identified by a deep mollic surface horizon (well decomposed and finely distributed organic matter) and base-rich mineral soil below. Mollisols form mainly grasslands in areas where moisture may be seasonally deficient (e.g. the Great Plains of North America and the pampas of South America). They are among the most fertile soils in the world and now produce most of the world's cereals.
