Windows 95 Trademark An operating system with a graphical user interface, released by Microsoft in 1995, and intended to replace Windows, Windows for Workgroups, and MS-DOS (incorporating its functions). It uses the 32-bit capabilities of Intel processors. Some of its main features are: enables the use of long file names (up to 255 characters); supports the plug and play method for installing and configuring hardware; provides enhanced network support; facilitates access to the Internet via Internet Explorer.
