revascularization (ri-vas-kew-ler-I-zay-shŏn) n.
1. the regrowth of blood vessels following disease or injury so that normal blood supply to an organ, tissue, or part is restored.
2. the surgical operation of re-establishing the blood supply to a tissue or organ by means of a blood-vessel graft. coronary r. re-establishing blood flow to ischaemic heart muscle by coronary angioplasty and insertion of stents or by means of a coronary artery bypass graft.
