menorrhagia (men-ŏ-ray-jiă) n. abnormally heavy bleeding at menstruation. Menorrhagia may be associated with pelvic inflammatory disease, tumours (especially fibroids) in the pelvic cavity, endometriosis, or the presence of an IUCD. See also dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
