cri-du-chat syndrome
cri-du-chat syndrome (kree-doo-sha) n. a congenital condition of severe mental retardation associated with an abnormal facial appearance, spasticity, and a characteristic catlike cry in infancy. It results from an abnormality in chromosome no. 5.
