Barrett's oesophagus

Barrett's oesophagus (ba-rĕts) n. a condition in which the normal squamous epithelium lining the oesophagus is replaced by columnar epithelium because of damage caused by gastro-oesophageal reflux or (rarely) by corrosive oesophagitis.
